FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Before beginning, a few practical questions often arise.

1. How does coaching begin?

Many clients arrive unsure whether coaching is the right step.
Most engagements begin with a confidential 30-minute exploratory conversation to understand context, clarify focus, and assess mutual fit.

Whether to proceed is always a mutual decision.

2. How long do engagements usually last?

Most engagements span three to six months, typically with conversations every two to four weeks.

During role transitions or organizational change, some engagements may extend to twelve months or longer.
Cadence and duration are clarified at the outset.

3. How often do we meet?

Sessions typically take place every two to four weeks.
Frequency may be adjusted depending on role complexity and context.

4. Is coaching online or in person?

Most engagements are conducted online.

If in-person sessions are required, practical arrangements can be discussed.
Sessions are typically held through Microsoft Teams or Zoom.

For platform-sponsored clients, sessions follow platform requirements.

5. How is coaching different from consulting or training?

Coaching does not provide ready-made solutions and does not replace management decisions.

Instead, coaching supports clarity in responsibility, boundaries, and priorities through structured reflection.
When the structure becomes clearer, action often becomes easier.

6. Do I need to be a people manager?

Not necessarily.

Many clients are managers, but engagements also include professionals with cross-functional responsibility or those navigating career transitions.

What matters is not title, but the responsibility carried in the role.

7. How do we know whether coaching is effective?

Effectiveness does not necessarily mean that the original issue disappears.

More common indicators include:

  • steadier decision-making
  • clearer boundaries
  • more workable conflict
  • clearer priorities

The question is whether responsibility is carried with greater maturity and stability.

8. Does coaching involve communication with my organization?

For organization-sponsored engagements, it is common to align goals and boundaries with the sponsor at the beginning.

Individual session content remains confidential unless explicitly agreed in advance.

9. Is coaching confidential?

Yes.

All engagements follow professional ethics and confidentiality standards.

Session content is not disclosed to third parties except where required by law or with explicit authorization.

10. How are fees structured?

Fees depend on the engagement format, duration, and topic complexity.

Most engagements are structured in phases (for example three to six months) and confirmed through a written agreement outlining goals and responsibility boundaries.

After the exploratory conversation, a clear proposal is provided.

Real partnership is built on clear goals and shared ownership.
